Fun family stay at Big Bear!
We enjoyed our few days in The Looney Den. It is a nice set-up for a family or 2 to share. Very casual, with an old-fashioned style. We were comfortable, warm, and had plenty of room. It was very quiet in the neighborhood during our stay. We were just a few minutes drive from ski slopes, sledding hills, The Village, the zoo, etc. Not much of a view from the cabin, so if that's what you are looking for then I'd look for another property. Our only complaint is that a few things were broken in the cabin... the arm of a living room chair fell off right away when we sat down, exposing a long rusty screw. And the closet doors in one bedroom were impossible to open/close, precariously placed. It would be great if those things could be fixed for the next guests.

Relaxing
We did a spur of the moment trip like we always do. Luckily cool cabins had rentals open. We were able to stay at the Looney Den and it was a great experience. The staff was nice and very generous. I would definitely recommend it to everyone. Thanks for the great relaxing at home feel. The Herndon-Keliiwaiwaiole 'Ohana

like visiting a cranky grandma
The cabin was nice, and the staff at Cool Cabins delivered as promised, and were friendly and professional. But everywhere you look in the cabin (and I mean everywhere, starting with the front porch signs telling you not to touch the motion sensor lights), and in each available cupboard and cabinet, there are signs bolted to the wall reminding you not to move anything (or an extra charge), or unplug anything (extra charge), or steal anything (literally "Thou Shalt Not Steal"), disobey the code of conduct (extra charge), 3 different signs on the fireplace, flush the toilet after each use (no, really)...you get the picture.
