The house is a wonderful example of a century-old, cedar-shingled style Craftsman home built in 1898. It is located approximately one block from the Del Coronado Hotel, the ocean, the yacht harbor, and the Village shops and restaurants.
The home has been carefully rehabilitated retaining most of its original details and is appointed with a mixture of period furnishings as well as eclectic additions. The kitchen, as featured in the July 2000 issue of This Old House, includes a commercial-grade refrigerator and stove, Jenn-air grill and stainless-steel center table for seating and workspace. The sleeping porch off the front door entry looks onto a lush fern garden. Exiting the dining room through the French doors, there is also a patio with a tranquil sitting area and bubbling pond with nite lighting. The back yard is gated with tropical plantings, a heated pool, two patio dining sets as well as two chaise lounges for entertaining.
Three bedrooms/two baths are located upstairs with an ensuite bath in the master bedrm and step out porch overlooking the front yard. The fourth bedrm/den in located on the first floor looking out to the pool with the third full bath with the W/D off this bath.
Last but not least is the spacious living room with original boxed-beam ceiling, restored fireplace with gas, comfortable seating and dining/game table. Continuing into the dining room with original built-in leaded buffet the dining table accommodates seating for 8 to 10 people.
Off street parking is available as well as parking on the street. Beach chairs, surf board, and other beach/pool equipment are available for the guests as well.
